Support women with 2,000 improved chicks

  • Why?
Many Tanzanians keep chicken at their home, as a means to support themselves but also sell eggs and poultry at the market. However, most of the poultry in villages are a poor quality species which hardly attracts any money for the eggs and meat.
Thanks to an incubator, it will be easy to spread improved varieties in the village. In such a machine, some 200 selected eggs can be laid and hatched. The improved chicken can be sold to other farmers and help to have a variety of chicken that will grow faster, provide more eggs and have more and tastier meat.


  • What will you sponsor?
        - With your financial support, a woman community initiative group will be provided with one incubator
        - This will allow the multiplication flow of improved species of chicken allowing the women to sell the chicks 
        - Overall, we estimate that some 2,000 chicken per year can be hatched
        - KIHO provides training and hands out a manual to the group. Technical advice about the appropriate infrastructure is also provided thanks to your support

  • What can you expect?
        - You will receive pictures from the hand-over of the incubator to the local woman community group local community group
        - You will receive a scanned “thank you” letter of this community including an English translation provided by KIHO
        - You will receive four updates every three months about how the project is going, including pictures
